In remote settings, team members probably don’t know much about each other, apart from work. This activity is opening this space
Bring the team together in pairs (breakout rooms) so they can talk about a topic you provide for around 4 minutes. It can be something work-related but also chit-chat, where they talk about a hobby, experience, holiday or every other topic but work. Each person has 2 minutes, you can set a timer, to make people aware. After 4 minutes bring them back together in the main room. Set the timer to 30 seconds and give the people a chance to describe one thing they heard about their partner’s interests. It is a fun and sparkling intro / ice-melter / icebreaker and it can also lead to more teambuilding when they find out what else they have in common.
